On the way to LA, we stopped by The Van Duzers House to visit Mama's old friends and neighbors from Sugar Land, Texas. They are now living in the Coachella area (Indio) starting yet another church. This is Tom. He was very nice and funny!
Tyler didn't get nakey because he made a mess, it was hot hot hot!
Not only did we swim in their play pool but we drank lots of water
and visited
and drank more water
and had a great time. They even fed us dinner. You could tell it made mama very happy to see them after all these years.
Then it was off to Halmoni's in la! and a trip there wouldn't be complete without saying hi to the fishies out front
tyler couldn't wait!
then of course running around on the balcony
silly tyler is always getting into everything and making messes
and like always we visited the korean mall for lunch
of course i had to bring my baby!
Grandma and Kari couldn't read the signs but they had fun!
tyler was finally old enough to eat ja ja mung with us
and he loved it!
mama went to the bathroom and was amazed at how strong the hand dryers were
and no trip to the korean mall wouldn't be complete without a posed picture by the fountain
and waking up in halmoni's bed with grandma is sooo wonderful
then it was off to Huntington Beach!
tyler was rearing to go
Mama's cousin Su and her mama walked and talked quite a bit. Su was the only one who went out neck deep!
and of course there were lots of pictures to be taken
a better picture of su and her mama
the ladies cruising the beach
Mama's other cousin Sam helped baby sit Tyler
while her other cousin, Christine, played with me!
Grandma, Kari, and Kaci took a long walk on the beach
Tyler says come on Sam keep up!
Mama's Uncle Kwang and her halmoni, my jinjo halmoni (great grandma)
Mama's Oldest Korean Aunt and halmoni
Mama and Halmoni, all smiles
how cute and adorable is this. i can't wait till i get big and i can dress up mama and i in matching outfits
tyler was so helpful and shared his food with halmoni
Uncle Kwang
Tyler chased all the birds away
and we ran and ran and ran
till we couldn't run anymore
then we built sand castles
and took naps
then it was off to dinner!
this was the closest mama could get to getting a picture of su and her mama talking with their hands. she says that apparently she signs too slow and takes pictures too slow.
mama couldn't go somewhere and not take the photo of the next winning football team! Go Cowboys!
this is a picture of halmoni and the family she used to babysit. The daughter works part time as a hostess/busgirl at this coffee shop and this big boy was the youngest of the three kids halmoni nannied. he was five when she first started watching him! he's soooo big now! i wonder if i'll be that big when i'm five
tyler turned heads and frowns upside down in his beach get up the next day...mama kept saying tyler phone home
christine looked pretty cute too
this crazy looking house was so weird we had to pull over just to get a picture
silly mama and auntie kaci. they htought they were putting on clear chapstick. ha ha
one can never get enough grandma and halmoni kisses!
then we went to indian wells resort (palm springs)
and that was the end of our la trip. from there we went home. i can't wait to do it again next year!
