Sophie and I want to say hello and thank you to everyone. We appreciate you stopping by to meet and leave Kayla messages. When Kayla turns one we are planning to turn this blog into a book. Any post that you leave will stay with Kayla the rest of her life! We especially need to say thank you to Kristie and Jason Scott. The idea for this blog came from a blog they started for their daughter Lillie. She is a total cutie pie! We have included a link to their site in Kayla's favorite links.
Sophie and I have been really fortunate to have shared countless amazing experiences over the past 8 years! We've traveled through 11 countries togehter, spent 6 years in college opening doors in our mind we never knew were closed, and raised the best dog the world has ever seen. But without a doubt the last week has been the best week of our lives! Kayla keeps us in a constant state of awe. She toots and we laugh. She potties and right after we change her diaper, and I mean seconds later, she goes again. We think it is hilarious! And if anyone knows a doctor that can surgically remove cameras from hands please pass on the contact info. I can't put ours down.
Please keep stopping by and leaving messages. Our plan is to spoil her rotten but we need everyone's help :) On a closing note, I just couldn't make a post and not include a picture!

My First Week
Hello World! The first week of my life has already been an adventure:
My first day I stayed all night at the hospital. Every time I would finally fall asleep a different nurse or doctor would come in and wake me up. They poked me, flipped me, and carted me to all kinds of different rooms.
It wasn't all bad though. I got some visitors that really knew how to make me smile!
When I finally came home my daddy just kept taking pictures of me. Him and my mama were in love! They kept kissing me on the cheek and telling me I was the cutest baby they had ever seen!

We got a lot of visitors at home too! Friends and family had waited 41 weeks to meet me and everyone wanted a chance to hold me.
I would take naps when I could and my daddy thinks I look like him when he was a baby in this picture!
Sometimes I would just strike really cute poses that would melt my parents' hearts!

Labor and Delivery
Labor started at 5:20 p.m. when the doctor broke the bag of waters. The whole process from start to finish took around 11 hours and little miss Kayla was born at 4: 28 a.m. on Wednesday June 20th. Mom and Dad got their first break as family and friends gathered around to hold her for the first time...
